Emma Watson at 2011 GQ Men of the Year Awards at the Royal Opera House in London

Emma Watson
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson (born 15 April 1990) is an English actress and model who rose to prominence playing Hermione Granger, one of three starring roles in the Harry Potter film series. Watson was cast as Hermione at the age of nine, having previously acted only in school plays. From 2001 to 2011, she starred in all eight Harry Potter films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Watson's work on the Harry Potter series has earned her several awards and more than £10 million. She made her modelling debut for Burberry's Autumn/Winter campaign in 2009.

In 2007, Watson announced her involvement in two productions: the television adaptation of the novel Ballet Shoes and an animated film, The Tale of Despereaux. Ballet Shoes was broadcast on 26 December 2007 to an audience of 5.2 million, and The Tale of Despereaux, based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo, was released in 2008 and grossed over US $86 million in worldwide sales.

Watson's extended family has grown, as her divorced parents each have new partners. Her father has a son, and identical twin girls. Her mother's partner has two sons who "regularly stay with her". Watson's full brother, Alexander, has appeared as an extra in two Harry Potter films, and her half-sisters were cast as the young Pauline Fossil in the BBC's Ballet Shoes adaptation.

After moving to Oxford with her mother and brother, Watson attended The Dragon School, an independent preparatory school, until June 2003 and then moved to Headington School, an independent school for girls, also in Oxford. While on film sets, Watson and her peers were tutored for up to five hours a day;[90] despite the focus on filming she maintained high academic standards. In June 2006, Watson took GCSE examinations in 10 subjects, achieving eight A* and two A grades; she was a target of friendly ribbing on the Harry Potter set because of her straight-A exam results. She received A grades in her 2008 A level examinations in English Literature, Geography and Art, and in her 2007 AS (advanced subsidiary) level in History of Art.

The trio along with Neville appeared on a spoof of U2’s album ‘The Joshua Tree’, the Daily Mail reported.

Using images of the actors from the most recent movie, ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II’, a website has transformed them into subjects including Pink Floyd, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones and Queen.

While on one Harry Potter and Ron Weasley are shown as Bowie look-alike complete with the singer’s signature lightning strike face paint, another cover shows Dobby the house elf as one of the four members of Queen.

In another, Voldemort’s army pose in ripped jeans as The Ramones, while ‘He Who Must Not Be Named’ also stars as Jackson on the cover of 1987 album ‘Bad’.

Professor Snape, played by Alan Rickman, stars as Elvis on the spoof cover of his record ‘68 Comeback, complete with leather jacket and guitar.

Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the movie, went to the club after the final premiere for "Deathly Hallows: Part 2", which is the last of the "Harry Potter" films, reports thesun.co.uk.

"She was really enjoying herself. There were a few scantily-clad girls around but Emma didn't bat an eyelid. There are a few poles in the club but she didn't have a go. After such a big night, it's no wonder she wanted to let her hair down," said a source.

She danced the night away with friends.

"She had a smile on her face the whole time before calling it a night around 2 a.m.," added the source.

The actress was just 11 when she starred in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and was 12 when she featured in the "Chamber of Secrets".

Emma Watson finally feels like 'true actress' after a decade in 'Harry Potter' films

Washington, July 10 : Emma Watson might have spent almost a decade in the 'Harry Potter' films, but it is only now that she has been feeling like a true actress after watching her performance in the new and final installment of the wizard series.

The British beauty, who has been playing Hermione Granger in J.K. Rowling’s magical books since she was just 11, also said that she was excited to use the skills that she has learned onscreen in other movies as well.

“Watching the new film I feel I’ve really learned something in these 10 years. For the first time I really felt like an actress and I have an idea of what I can be as an actress. And that is very exciting,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling the Daily Mirror.

“I’ve worked with animals, special effects, I’ve done some serious stunts and I’ve worked with some of the best actors and actresses in the world. I couldn’t have had better training,” she said.

“I feel I’ve graduated from the most difficult, hard-core film school of all time and I can’t believe how lucky I’ve been. Now I’m ambitious to use what I’ve learned to do good work.

“I look back at the early films and see that little girl - and I know it’s me but it seems like a different person. It’s embarrassing to see myself go through the awkward stages of growing up - my hair was just enormous!

“So much time has passed and so much has happened that it seems I don’t know her. But it’s interesting to see how the character has evolved and how much I have changed,” she added.

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ is being premiered in London.
